Microsoft released six security updates and patches for Windows 7 Operating System in it’s February 2010 Patch Tuesday. Some of the patches have been rated as critical so it’s advised to install them as soon as possible. These updates are not applicable with Beta or RTM releases of Windows 7.

After a somewhat quite January 2010 patch Tuesday. Microsoft has released about 10 security updates and patches in month of February 2010. Service Pack 3 is required to be installed along with last years 2009 security updates and patches released.

Microsoft released it first Windows XP patch for Year 2010. In this month of January there is only one patch released.This patch fixes security hole in OpenType font engine. This vulnerability could allow remote code execution by a specially crafted fonts embedded in a file of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer. The patch has been rated low for Windows Xp.
